2:20 PM Here’s the Legacy Campaign prayer request for today: “Pray for the buildings and grounds staff and their extra workload during construction.”

1:28 PM This is “Get ready to travel” week in our household. On Saturday Marlene and I leave for a two-week trip to the Northeast. We fly to Albany, New York, where we will rent a car and drive to Schroon Lake, New York for a week of ministry at Word of Life. A week from Saturday we drive to Danforth, Maine for a week of speaking at Living Waters Bible Camp. The camp is located on the border between Maine and New Brunswick, with the camp on the west side of a large lake, and Canada on the east side. And while we’re on the road, Nick will travel to Costa Rica with a group of high school students from Calvary. That basically means we’re scurrying around trying to get three weeks of work done in the next five days.

Here’s the latest news on the renovation campaign. As of today, the total raised through the First Fruits offering stands at $187,000. Added to the money already in the bank, that means we have over $1 million in hand toward the $2.4 million needed. Major demolition and clear-out has already started at the church. We’re hoping that the construction permits will be granted today or tomorrow so the major construction can begin in earnest.
