February 14, 2005

11:16 PM This morning I spoke at Awana headquarters in Streamwood for their Global Leadership Conference. I was told that my message was being simultaneously translated into Spanish, Russian, and I think they also said Japanese. Met Marian Tetzlaff’s daughter who works at Awana HQ. The building is located at the edge of a forest preserve so you feel like you are visiting a national park. Special thanks to Brian Rhodes (US director for Awana) who invited me to speak to the conference. He is a budding blogger who reads my blog and plans to start one of his own soon. I told him to go ahead because before long bloggers will rule the world. He mentioned that some of the folks at the conference came from the Ukraine. They told him that the Internet played a big role in the recent election of Viktor Yushchenko, the pro-Western president of the Ukraine. As a side note, I recommended to Brian what I recommend to everyone who reads this blog. Buy a copy of Hugh Hewitt’s new book, Blog. Hugh is the most-read Christian blogger at the moment. He’ll make you believe in the power of weblogs to change the world. 11:16 PM 141 miles.
