12:16 PM Jeff Jacoby explains why a Jew says “Merry Christmas". 11:08 AM During my sermon yesterday, I mentioned the biblical allusions in several Chinese words, especially “righteousness,” which is composed of the symbol for “lamb” over the symbol for “me.” Thus, “lamb over me.” Here are two books that show the biblical allusions in many ancient Chinese words: The Discovery of Genesis Subtitled, “How the Truths of Genesis Were Found Hidden in the Chinese Language” Genesis and the Mystery Confucius Couldn’t Solve 10:31 AM We leave for China in 24 days. 10:07 AM Yesterday I took my coldest bike ride ever. It was so cold that the temperature gauge on my bike computer stopped working. It was around 8 degrees when I did my usual 11 mile ride. When I started, my face and fingers were cold but my toes were warm. By the end, my toes were tingling but my face and fingers were fine. I put on a mountain of clothes, so many layers that I could hardly go faster than 13-14 mph. The best part: No one else was out on the road. 10:06 AM Steve and Amy Tanner have a very cool weblog. Check out their reviews of Fanta Citrus, Orange Crush and Mello Yellow. Plus stories about their swing dance lessons, and high praise for Jack’s Bar-B-Que in Nashville.
