7:45 PM Today’s entry in the Crosswalk weblog is called Polish Sausage and a Pork Chop Sandwich. 2:38 PM Just got some more information about the Oak Park Christian Academy Dinner and Auction Fundraiser celebrating their 10th Anniversary, Friday, November 5, 6:30 PM. The evening includes dinner, a silent auction, and a live auction. Tickets are $20.00 per person. Call (708) 445-3030 to purchase tickets. I definitely plan be there. I hope you will join me for this special evening. I said that so I can now say this. The silent and live auctions will include many wonderful items, but none more amazing than this. Do you recognize the name of Bo Jackson? That’s right. The former baseball and football star. Bo Jackson owns a hunting lodge called “Millbrook” near Lemont, IL. Through a friend of OPCA, someone has donated two tickets for a day of hunting pheasant at Millbrook. Here are the details:

The day starts with coffee and conversation with Bo; then on to hunting pheasant. At about 2:30 in the afternoon you head back to the Victorian house and Bo joins you for a feast fit for a king. At this time you can have Bo sign anything you want. Before you go home, Bo asks you how many pheasant you want, and his staff has already cleaned and flash frozen the birdies and he gives you whatever you want and you leave. Whomever buys the two “tickets” calls Bo’s assistant in Alabama, who then faxes a bunch of dates that are acceptable to Bo and the scheduling commences. If you don’t have a gun, Bo provides one.

This is a super opportunity for a father and a son, for two friends, for a husband and wife who like to go hunting, and for sports fans who want to meet Bo Jackson. And it’s a great way to make a donation to OPCA.
