12:33 PM Did you know Calvary has a softball team? Two weeks ago the Vineyard Church called and asked if we would take their place in the local church league. We said yes, and so far we’re 0-3. But my inside source (Mark) said we played “really well” in losing a doubleheader to the top two teams last Sunday afternoon. I’m predicting our first victory this Sunday. (I also told Mark we were going to stop paying those big salaries to the players if we didn’t start winning. That didn’t seem to faze him at all.) 12:28 PM A big Friday shout-out to Mike and Andrea and Pat McGuin, Andre and Selwyn Payne, Tom and Karen Hawkins in Crystal Lake, Daniel Wallace and the whole crew at Gull Lake, Sharon McCray, Dan Jacobs, and to Donald and Sue and their whole clan, and to the Hazen clan, and to J.J. Jasper in Tupelo, Mississippi, to Pastor Rich Millette in Quebec, and to Jo-Ann Bouclair in Montreal. 9:56 AM In a little over an hour, the Allied Force Costa Rica Team departs. Here are the team members: Marshall Birkey Kim Boerman Maura Gaskill Erica Gibbons Rachel Glancy Amy Jahns Heidi Jahns Erik Johnson Rachel Jones Luke Kooken John McGuin Courtney Moran Andre Payne Eric Rubio Andrea Spisiak John Stoffer Ben Tyler Zach VanderLaan Leaders: Craig Hammond Megan Hammond Erika Brambila Darin Weil They will be working with Calvary missionaries Mark and Karen Edwards to help train Costa Rican teens in evangelism and discipleship. They will return to Oak Park on August 1. 9:56 AM 1304 miles. 9:55 AM This is a great idea.
