Thailand Update

September 26, 2007

Trip going great … Awesome experience to speak at the women’s prison yesterday … We started our seminar with 250 Christian workers—most of them under 35 … from Thailand, Burma, Cambodia … Amazing opportunity to teach them how to share the gospel … Thai Christians full of zeal for the Lord … Warm and friendly … They have welcomed us with open arms … Great joy to be with them … Many of them traveled great distances to be here, some from remote villages where they rarely get any Christian fellowship … The gospel is spreading rapidly among some of the tribal people of Thailand. Christians make up 1-2% of the population of Thailand so any opportunity to come together for fellowship is a joyful occasion.

Internet connection very spotty … That’s why I haven’t updated the weblog.

Thanks for your prayers … Health good … Marlene doing well … Thailand is bright and colorful … Haven’t eaten anything that disagrees with us … We have had several fantastic feasts–spicy curry, hot soup, and an array of sumptuous salads, all served on a rotating Lazy Susan. They served ox-tail soup the other day—a delicacy … I felt my stomach might not handle it, but they said it was delicious. All is well. I speak 3 X today, again tomorrow and preach on Sunday.

Keep praying.

Ray
