7674 Copies So Far

June 23, 2009

It’s time for an update on the Anchor Book Depot. Since January 1 we have distributed 7674 copies of An Anchor for the Soul to the following ministries. Where a jail or prison is listed, it means that we donated the books to a ministry or to chaplain serving the inmates in that particular facility.

Arkansas Department of Corrections, Pine Bluff, AR
Cook County Jail Ministry, Glen Ellyn, IL
Douglas County Correctional Center, Omaha, NE
Global Outreach, Uganda
Medina County Jail, Medina, OH
Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center, Kent, WA
Oklahoma Jail and Prison Ministry, Oklahoma City, OK
Pacific Garden Mission, Chicago, IL
Spiritual Freedom, Moscow, Russia
Plane State Jail, Dayton, TX
Plymouth County Correctional Facility, Plymouth, MA
Pontiac Bible Church, Pontiac, IL
Prison Fellowship, Lansdowne, VA
Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL
Word of Life, South Africa

Since 2000 we have given away over 400,000 copies of this little “gospel book” to prison ministries, military ministries, for disaster relief, and for targeted missionary outreach. With only a couple of exceptions, we give the books away free of charge. In those cases where we do charge, we simply ask for a donation equal to the cost of printing and shipping.

At the moment we have around 21,500 copies of Anchor in the Book Depot in Chicago. Over the years we have received over 12,000 letters from prisoners who read the book. Many write to say that they have trusted Christ.

This ministry exists only because of the generosity of our supporters. Thank you for giving and for praying. If you could use copies of Anchor, please let us know.
