Just today I received this note from KBM board member Skip Olson who has been overseeing the reprinting of An Anchor for the Soul:

Hi All!
It looks like the new shipment of Anchor will arrive sometime during the week of August 5th.

More ammo for the “front lines!”
Just wanted to give you all a “heads up!”

We’re excited because that means 100,000 Anchors will be going out to prison ministries, military ministries, crisis pregnancy centers, biker outreach ministries, street ministries, and other evangelistic outreaches.
 
When we tell the story of how Keep Believing Ministries got started, we always say that this is where we began. Back in 2006 we wanted a way to keep donating copies of Anchor to ministries on the “front lines” of evangelism for Christ. Since then our ministry has expanded in ways we never dreamed, including the China broadcast, the podcasts, the video ministry, and the sermons on the website.
 
But it all started with the Anchor project.
 
Each week we receive a new stack of letters from prisoners who have read the book and write to say thank you. Here’s one we picked from the top of the stack. It comes from a prisoner in Georgia named Adam. Early in his letter he says,

I have been back and forth in my spiritual beliefs. And for the past several years I have abandoned God.

But that is not the whole story:

I read your book “An Anchor for the Soul” and it was a great inspiration to me. I read it in 3 days and took several pages of notes. Thank you!! I know I’m definitely a sinner and up until I read this book I thought I was hell bound. Not anymore!! I look forward to getting out and starting my NEW LIFE in Christ.

I feel a new joy growing in my heart, which I thought, no knew, was dead.

There are lots of men and women just like Adam who thought there was no hope. We know that a book like An Anchor for the Soul has no power to change the human heart. Only God can do that. But he uses tools like this little “gospel book.”

Please join us in giving thanks to God for Adam and for all those like him who have come to faith in Christ through reading Anchor.

This Sunday we leave for two weeks of ministry at Word of Life in Schroon Lake, New York. Ray speaks to teenagers on the Island the first week and at the Inn and Family Campground the second week. Pray for journey mercies, for good health, and for God’s blessing on the ministry of the Word.
