Q: Do you read lots of books? A: I read parts of lots of books. I dont read very many books all the way to the end.
Q: Why is that? A: It must be a character flaw. I start things and never finish them.
Q: Whats your favorite TV show? A: The Iron Chef on the Food Network, Friday and Saturday at 9:00 p.m. and Sunday at 6:00 p.m.
Q: I never heard of that show before. What is it? A: It comes from Japan and is dubbed into English. Top chefs battle against each other using a theme ingredient to see who can produce the best dishes in one hour. Its a combination of WWF meets Julia Child with a dash of Monday Night Football.
Q: Youre just making this up, arent you? A: No, Im totally serious. And its my favorite TV show. But you have to watch it a couple of times to get the hang of it.
Q: What are your hobbies? A: Riding my bike and visiting Civil War battlefields. I try to ride my bike three or four times a week for about 11.5 miles. I like to visit the battlefields when Im on vacation.
Q: Whats your favorite book of the Bible? A: Thats hard to answer because I change my mind. But I like Ecclesiastes because it speaks the truth about the human condition.
Q: That sounds mysterious. A: It is. Im not sure what it means. I also like the book of Romans because it shows how the gospel is the answer to the problems raised in Ecclesiastes.
Q: Do you think the White Sox can make it to the World Series? A: Yes.
Q: What about the Cubs? A: Not this year.
Q: Anything else you want to say? A: Sure. Have a nice summer everyone.
