What happens, where does a Christian go when he dies? Immediately after death?

I believe Christians who die go immediately into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said to the thief on the cross, “Today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:43). To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). See What is Heaven Like?
