Keeping the Sabbath

Phil from England asks:
As a wedding photographer I often work on a Saturday, does this conflict with God law of keeping the Sabbath?
Ray Pritchard’s answer

The answer is no, because the law about keeping the Sabbath came to an end at the death of Christ. Ephesians 2:15 says Christ abolished in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. The whole law came to end with the death of Christ. It is significant that of the 10 Commandments, 9 are repeated and applied to Christians in the New Testament. But the Sabbath Commandment is never applied to the church.

So I would say that you are free to work on Saturday because now all days are alike to the Lord. What matter is that you take time each week to rest, to unwind, to spend time with your family, to attend worship, and to celebrate Christ’s resurrection with other belevers. That’s the crucial thing. So I would say, don’t be a workaholic. Observe the “Sabbath principle” by taking time to do all those things. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking you need to work all the time. Better to take time for the greater and more important things of life.
