“God Can Do Anything Now”

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20).

How much can God do in 2010?

The answer is, no one knows because no one has ever come to the end of God’s infinite ability.

It is not our prayers that mark his ability. He can do far more than we can pray. It is not our dreams and hopes that mark his ability. He can do things we can’t even dream of. He is not limited by our prayers, our problems, our dreams, or even by our meager theories about who he is.

I listened as a friend talked about what this text meant to him. Christ saved him and utterly transformed his life, his marriage, his family, and his career. With profound gratitude, he thought about his own life in light of verse 20, and then he said, “God can do anything now.” He’s absolutely right.

Pray big prayers to an Almighty God. We can’t even imagine what God can do.

We don’t even know what we don’t know.

Just a thought, but I think GOD has being doing lots of things all along, I just haven’t been able to imagine it since so many bad things are happening on a daily basis.Compassion comes to mind.

Good point. I think my friend meant something like, “Now I realize for the first time the unlimited power of God.” For most of us the greatest miracles are not planets that zoom through space but deeper inner change of the heart and answers to prayer day by day.

Hi Ray . I preached on Sunday and after the service a lady told me that the day before, two black teenage girls from Zimbabwe had stopped her in the market and said “ We are missionaries from Africa and have come to Australia to tell you about Jesus”. It just thrilled my heart, and I was moved to tears as I pondered on the zeal and passion of these lovely young people in this day of materialism. God bless them.

Pat, I love that story. Missionaries from Zimbabwe coming to Australia to share the Good News. It’s as if the whole world has been turned upside down. America is as much as a mission field as we are a missionary-sending nation. God bless those two young girls. And may the Lord raise up a host like them from every nation to take the Good News to every nation. Ray
